A Lot Of Potential
I'm hoping this takes off a bit. As of right now, I like the AddThis.com button more than the AddToAny.com button. The problem is that neither live up to what they are capable of. AddToAny has more networks and faster access to certain abilities, but AddThis still seems far superior...
Now lets talk AddThis, since this is a review of it. Starting with the site/button (Not the module), you can customize it to look like you want, show the networks that you want shown first, and change many things about its appearance. Sounds great, right?
This is where the problems come. You see, the module doesn't have this ability. You can technically try to edit the code and see where it gets you, but it isn't easy for someone like me. That is where Drupal.org users actually stepped in and released decent rewrites on the forum, for use. These are bug filled, not all features I would like are there, and the creator doesn't seem to be all that active, since we haven't seen much in a month and half, despite user made builds to work with. This project screams co-developers.
With that said, AddThis has a lot of potential, but still it bothers me a bit. I wish they would add more networks and make it easier to do things, like fast bookmark and email the page to friends, the way AddToAny does. The button is clearly superior, but it needs work.
Overall a lot of work is needed, but I'll likely be using this, with hopes of seeing more done in the future.
