This administrator menu should be in default drupal core, not an option. This module is a big time saver and no 1 module that you should install on a fresh drupal site. Simply great, no doubt.
The best module for the site administrators ever, saves a lot of hours for admins. This is the first module I install always on every site I'm working on.

I used it from Drupal 6, it save my time. In Drupal 7 have toolbar module out of box but I still use Administrator module.

If you need a clean, stylish and easy to use administration menu, this is what you need.
This module is useful but not for all users. However this module is one of the favorite modules for most users, if a user worked firstly with the default admin panel and menus, working with this module makes the work more confusing. For example when i installed it, i confused and then removed it. So if you are new to Drupal and want to surf admin panel easier, its a useful module for you but if you are Ok with default admin menus, its not needed in my opinion.
This is the first module I install on every site I'm working on! It helps to navigate through admin interface easily - can't normally work without that.

Since Drupal 7 features a customizable menu bar and the overlay in core, this module has become sort of pointless. However, it is still a well built module.
i really don't like mouseover drop down menus and didn't want to like this module because of it, but my boss added it and it was there and i started to use i and i use it all the time and it is really useful. i didn't read any documentation. didn't have to. i do wonder if i can customize it. it would be nice to hide things i don't use or group things better.
I couldn't work without this module - always the first thing I activate before making any configuration changes!

Couldn't live without this module. It's incredibly handy for any admin. Navigating the site is super easy.
Where are the basic create content links? This tool, while great, is completely broken IMO without the addition of links to create content.
I don't know how I could have done web support and development without this excellent tool. It puts all the necessary admin features right at the top of your screen where you can get to them quickly.
It looks little use to me at the beginning as I was so used to normal drupal admin interface, but once I installed the Admin menu module, I just can't help to love it. It's much much faster to navigate around the web in this way. I have all drupal webs installed this module.
The only small bug I found that it sometimes doesn't load up on Internet explorer especially IE6, but hey, IE6 is well famous terrbile to support web because of its' age, so I can't blame admin menu.

You could live without it but I see no reason why anyone would not want to install this module. It's a big time saver.
This module works like a charm! A module that a developer must have, one of the downside of drupal for first time users is that it's hard to locate the functions you need in development but because of this module, they are all exposed and organized very well. Administration Menu is included in my drupal basic package.
I can't believe I administered Drupal sites without this module for three years. This module solves my major hangup with core--how damnably hard it is to find where to do what you want to do. It'd be nice if one could configure which parts of administration menu are visible (and perhaps for whom), and there are some performance-related bugs, but overall it is quite robust. Issue queues for your installed modules with one click, quick access to devel functionality, full access to child menu items... probably one of my favorite modules ever.
It's time saver and works sooooo smooth!

Admin Menu works great for me - even in Drupal 5 - this is a real time saver.
I have another site which I haven't installed this module on yet and I miss it a lot.

I wish I had of discovered this module a couple of years ago. It performs well and makes administration so much easier. No more clicking through 5 links with page loads to get where you want to be. 1 click and you're there.
This module needs to be in core.
As others have said, this module is the first one to install on your site. Its inclusion in the Acquia commercial download is testimony to its utility and indispensability. A perfect example of a simple concept translated into incredible power and flexibility. My hat is off to the developer.

The admin menu is the first drupal modules should be installed. Best of drupal modules, really useful. I didn't know if this modules didn't available :D
If you change the div for the menu in the style sheet to fixed it stays at the top of the window & it becomes even better when you're working with long pages.

The Drupal Administration Menu module is always the first to be installed on any Drupal site that we develop. It saves so much time and space that we can't live without it.
This is a good simple module. Pretty close to the first I install. I would like the ability to customize the size or such, since I think the default is too small for my taste, but that's a very minor issue!
great module. i now install on this all new drupal sites and remove the administration features from the main menu. this has made site navigation dramatically easier for our users.
It's is very practic. You to get used to use this.
I have a problems with some themes...
I always install this module first. It gives you that desktop functionality that is so handy, it becomes frustrating when it's not there!
TIP: change the css of admin menu to set position: fixed
now the menu will always be visible when you scroll!
This is one of those modules that NEEDS to be there. When I install a fresh copy of Drupal, there is a brief moment where I don't know what to do because this isn't there.
OK, so why a 2! Because Its transparent and you cant easily turn it off! Drives me nuts. 3 is average, and this module lacks what I think is the most important aspect of it!
I was just telling myself that it would be nice to have the same menu i had with joomla and this module do just that.

The Drupal admin menu provides an easy to navigate menu of all your administrative tasks and config options sitting at the top of the screen and making it all available to you.
I've been using it with my 5.x installs for some time and it really does save you time and effort. I've started using the 6.x version on my new sites and it obviously still needs work but it is better than any other options.
I would say this is the first module I install once a site is setup.

Prior to this module I had to constantly log out in order to see the site from an anonymous user's point of view as my template isn't supposed to use a vertical navigation menu. Great job - easy to install, easy to use, and captures all of the functionality of the conventional admin menu without a bunch of page refreshes.

This is the FIRST module I download and install on every site-- even sandbox and test sites. Saves tons of time and clicks. Never had a problem. Excellent.

I use it to administer sites quickly and effectively. I wish it had been around before we made the store admin block for Ubercart... but at least we have icons. :P
Also, I recommend the Admin Menu Dropdown module (http://drupal.org/project/admin_menu_dro...) to be used in conjunction with this one. It simply hides the display and lets you pop it open at any time by pressing Ctrl + Alt. Handy for me as it doesn't obstruct the normal theme or page display but is still less than a click away!
As the other reviews attest, this one is a no-brainer or slam dunk!
Gone are the days when you had to click Administer>>site Building>>Blocks just to get to your blocks config page. Now with this module you can just go to the top of your admin pages, in a slick tree form you can access any and every admin link you wanted to. It is a great module.
It can be made better with some styling though.
Installs without a hitch, placement of menu is perfect for not getting in the way, but always being handy, easy to use but the best thing is the time saved dialing through admin menus.
I put all my site documentation in a book at /admin/siteNotes so that it appears on the Admin Menu for quick access for adding notes or reference.
Would not admin a site without it.
This module is cool, but I ended up taking it off a lot of sites I manage just cause I forgot to use it. Even when I had it set to stay down, I didn't use it too much.
As the title suggests I install this on all new sites I setup or take over. I don't like to have the navigation menu showing so having the admin menu available no matter where I am saves me so much time and makes finding things quicker.
The only problem I have, and this may be due to the themes I use but until the admin menu is loaded fully on the page, I can not select, click or do anything on the site. This problem has only surfaced since the latest release.
This module is quite possibly the best thing that I have ever come across (besides Drupal itself). It makes administering Drupal so fast and easy and looks very nice and professional. It also makes it very easy to design a custom themed site without having to worry about where the administration menu will be placed.
This is the first module I install on any new site - absolutely perfectly made.
There is only one slight problem (which really does not get in the way that often), but because the links are small, you often will 'roll-off' of a link. Not really a problem, at all.
This is the first module I install on every site as well, even test sites. I have a D6 test site for advforum and I miss admin menu terribly. :(

Of course, I'm a little biased. ;) If you do not need a dropdown menu for regular site users, this module will boost your administrative tasks, especially when developing a new site.

This is a module I discovered by chance, and have loved ever since. If you're tired of clicking through 3 different screens just to get to the right admin section, this module is your new best friend!
Essentially, this module replaces the standard menu with a dynamic, expanding dropdown system. Everything you need is now just a single click away. It's a beautiful thing.
You might need to tweak your theme a bit to get the menu positioned properly at the top of the page, but it's worth the effort. This module will save you a lot of time, and a lot of clicks.
