Michelle did a great job in building this module and still puts great effort into it. If you want to have nice looking profiles you HAVE to use this module. If you understand it, it is really great.
BUT you need to have basic understanding of Panels to get this thing to work. Not the easiest module but very manageable and simply irreplacable.

I Want more of this Module. It is one of my favorites. Its not easy to use... Unless you follow the Amazing Documentation. So READ ON! I love this and want MORE!
I must say that I am tough on my reviews... 3 is averaged!
I gave it a 3 in Ease of Use because this is an ADVANCED module. If you don't know CCK, Views and Panels, then you better be patient with this one! Once you get it, there is no turning back!
I remember when Michelle had a user profiles tutorial on http://dev.shellmultimedia.com, so to see her work turn into a full fledged module, well more like a glue for other modules, is great. This has been indispensable for my last 3 projects. Of course this isn't a simple drag and drop solution, maybe not for the novice. For instance it uses Panels2 which is pretty difficult I'd imagine for novices to work with until some concepts about it click. Anyway, I've found the user profile to be one of the most requested features from clients and that makes this a huge module for me. Big Thanks to Michelle for all that work. It has been great seeing this evolve.
I have a very complex user profile plan to implement and I tried many times to make sense of previous nodeprofile tutorials only to give up in frustration. Advanced Profile just works and it leverages the beauty that is Panels 2 to great effect. I'm very grateful to the author and can't wait to finish implementing it on http://www.empowerthyself.com
