If your site has any login of any kind, you absolutely need this module. I got bot attacked and this module saved my site.
As per my knowledge i developed site without CAPTCHA this makes me to realize and learn the importance of CAPTCHA and reCAPTCHA through DRUPAL which is user friendly and information provider to every web designer. Drupal provides the ethics for good presentation. Now this CAPTCHA filters the automatic submission of bulk datas.
CAPTCHA module ran for some months on my sites and still, lots of spam slipped through it. So far, the only module that does an acceptable job in identifying and blocking spam is the Mollom module.
Further, as a module maintainer, I get many bogus support requests regarding CAPTCHA module, because its UI is confusing and not understood by site administrators.
CAPTCHA and reCAPTCHA are an absolute must for any website! Extremely easy to install and configure!
The UI is really well designed. Very self explaining layout and options.
I always use this module on sites where I have any type of input that needs protection vs spam/robots.
It's easy to use and I've never experienced any problems with it.

I really use captcha everywhere! Its easy to hook into anything that goes through the form api.
As I rewrite the ecard module I always recommend the users to use this module for more protection.
One thing that bugs me is that the disortion can get too heavy and you can't see what letters there are. So I set it always to low that humans have a change to read.
And even there is not that much to say I always miss more documentation.
If someone complains about this module it will be because it is too perfect.
It is simple to install, even more simple to configure, and works perfectly the first time, without fail, where you want it and for whom.

Sure Mollom is out there, but after having thirdparty functionality fail on me for various things and/or just slow things down, I appreciate the catpcha module because it's site-contained, simple, and works.
Plenty of nice features, even this site uses it!
The Captcha is a brilliant module and can pretty much eliminate all automated spam, but if you use Mollom on your site, you don't really need to use this as Mollom has its own Captcha built in.
What can one say about a module that protects your site against a considerable percentage of spam, simply by posing a challenge in the form of a word or math question? Yes, it sounds elementary, but the developer of this module has saved me and thousands of other drupal users from miserable bots and trolls who may not know elementary math or grammar. Easy to set up, easy to add to forms, combine with recaptcha and you have an unbeatable combination. Fantastic work!
Great module. Easy to configure. If you're having problems with spam get Captcha. I'd also recommend the reCaptcha module which is an add on that provides a much nicer widget for the user. reCaptcha also saves you having to configure the image captcha which requires uploading a font to the server (you can read about a bunch more benefits on their site).
I'd been putting off installing this for weeks cause I thought it would be much harder to use than it is. It ended up taking a little over an hour to download, install, learn, configure, test, adjust and have this system running smoothly. Awesome.
CAPTCHA is a great Drupal module to help you protect against pesky spam bots. It's impressive to see in the logs how many attempts it actually thwarts on a daily basis.
An additional module that expands the awesome power and user friendliness of CAPTCHA is reCAPTCHA, which utilizes a third party database of scanned words from books. Thus, you're helping digitize text for the betterment of the world!

Before I installed this module on my website, I was getting spam bots registering left right and centre. This module stopped all that.
Captcha is very easy to install and is very stable. I currently use it on my website www.huaq.net
And really easy to use, using it on every site now...

Looks like some one is testing their blog spam script. Anyway the CAPTCHA module helps stop this by requiring users to enter either the alphanumerics displayed in a picture or by asking a question such as
'What is the fifth word in the phrase "yasev iko epeha huvo usa"?:'.

The great thing about this is that you can make your CAPTCHA images unique, and therefore harder for these guys to crack! The CAPTCHA module is available for Drupal 4.7, 5 & 6, and is still in active development.
The module is very easy to use and install. This is an essential feature. The math captcha is possibly even "fun".
This module has a lot of little features that make it great. The ability to add captchas to any form is really useful.
The true strength of this module lies in the fact that it provides an API for other modules to plug into. This means you can extend it to provide many different types of captchas.
I suggest checking out Captcha Riddler, it's a great addition to this module.
