Use it with ImageCache
I always install this module because there is always some dynamic content that should have pictures. For that I need this module, together with the module ImageCache.
The module itself is simple and easy to use. Just like it should be imo. If you need anything more complex you can get it by adding more CCK fields. That's how CCK should be used. Many simple fields working together. I love the CCK approach.

Great image solution
I rely heavily on this module for my personal photoblog/website. It just works great in combination with ImageCache. Anything image related can be done with these modules and a little bit of CCK and Views...

Needed for Views Slideshow
This submodule is needed for the great views slideshow when working with images you can create a new content field that views grabs and converts into an automatic rotating slideshow.

A great module
Imagefield makes the job of allowing users to upload images much easier. It provides a nice and clean interface which reduces clutter and mess. Its options are vast and its integration with the Imagecache module is priceless, making any upload onto a node seem professional.
I wouldn't know what I would do without it, it makes image uploading onto nodes for Drupal a heck of a lot better, even better once you install the Imagefield Gallery module!
Downside is that the initial layout of the images is a bit awkward... but that's easily solved by installing the Imagefield Gallery module.

Integrates very well
This is my preferred module for image manipulation.
Works fantastic in combination with imagecache and thickbox. I even use it to create one image gallery per user on my nodeprofile!
The new version even allows for default images.
