Module Overview

Drupal.org Excerpt:

A wrapper module around the jQuery UI effects library that lets module developers add swooshy, swishy effects to their code. See http://jqueryui.com/demos for some examples of what jQuery UI can do. See http://jqueryui.com/docs for documentation on how to use it. See http://jqueryui.com/support if you... [More...]

Nearly worked out how to install from the docs!

Thanks to those below who added their info which helped me. Apologies if this is incomplete, I have been in a few loops with this but I thought I should contribute!

I found there were 3 things flying around in the process with Drupal 6.

1) Updater - which didnt seem to work but could have been due to trying to work out how this all played!
http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/jqu...

2)The UI module part itself. http://jquery-ui.googlecode.com/file/jqu...

3)script bits http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/jqu...

1) The updater is its own module and can be enabled even without jquery being installed.

2) is the module itself and should create /jquery_ui under your modules directory.

3) should be extracted and creates a /jquery_ui-6.x-1.3 directory, the contents and sub dirs should in fact be placed in /jquery_ui/jquery.ui not just the ui bit as mentioned in previous review.

That gives you a /jquery_ui/jquery.ui/ directory with /demos /tests /themes /ui and at least a jquery-1.2.6.js file and some acknowledgement and license files.

Hope that helps the next person along!

Docs awol

I found I couldn't enable the module until I put all the .js scripts from /development-bundle/ui into the /jquery.ui folder:

Get the latest (stable) file from: here. The link is at the top of the page for the "Quick download" containing all of the scripts. Alternatively you can select which scripts you want to include, then build and download the custom zip file, on the right side of the page.

The readme says to create the directory structure:

/sites/all/modules/jquery_ui/jquery.ui/

/jquery_ui is created by installing the Drupal module. Put the contents of the 'ui' directory from the downloaded and extracted file above, into /jquery.ui

Note the "." in the 2nd as opposed to the underscore in the first. So, the contents of the 'ui' folder from the zip file are all the various .js scripts that want to live in /jquery.ui.

After I did this, the module enabled ok.

It's also dependent on the 'jquery update' module as mentioned in the module list on your site.

Need to update documentation

Review updates:
The development bundle for jquery.ui library can be downloaded from
jQuery UI Development
source browser by following the Zip Archive link in Download in other formats section at the bottom of the page. I still believe the README.TXT file needs to be updated with above info as I could find that link as I am familiar with both trac & subversion, which might nor be true for all drupal administrators/users.

Also the I could not find the configuration section at Administer >> Site configuration >> jQuery UI as described at the README.TXT, instead Administer >> Site configuration >> jQuery Update has the similar js compression related configuration. Either way, if the configuration section is not there it should also be removed from the docs as well.

My review will still be least for the documentation, till the dev team is updating the docs resolving above issues, but I'm updating the other ratings.

Previous review:
I'm pretty sure that this must be a great module, but I couldn't install it as prescribed in the README.TXT :-(

The jquery ui site is not currently providing any kind of development bundle to download, instead providing a personalized version to download (please refer to current jQuery UI Download site) that don't work with the module. Also the installation doc lacks in to provide other info following which one can manually meet the requirements to enable/install this module.

As I couldn't install it due to lack of updated documentation, I am bound to put lowest rating there and also the lowest rating to others consequently.

I'll hope the documentation will be updated soon to make this module usable again.

Best wishes to the dev team.
