This module adds a block that will show a local menu in the context of the page you're at. It let's you specify the depth to start rendering at and the number of levels to render in total. I was trying Menu Block but couldn't get it to display the secondary links in a block under the active trail. This works exactly as I was expecting.
TIP: Local menu will show up as a new block. Just place the "Local Menu" block in the region you want the submenus fromn your primary links to appear.
So simple to use and exactly what I need. Documentation lacks a bit, but hey - is there anymore you need?

Great module, just what i needed - have been searching for ages for a drupal6 module to display a submenu once the primary link is clicked. This functionality should be part of the core of drupal.
Lacking on documentation, (for a noobie like myself) but is easy enough to figure out with a bit of perseverance.
