Incredible Module
This module could really stand to be core. It has a pretty difficult mission and it does it well. I could write many, many paragraphs on how wonderful this module is. Thank you!

Great documentation and easy to use hooks
Node import has great documentation with easy to use hooks and examples (or refer to node.inc for in-use examples) to make your own import add-ins. Straight forward upload and assignment system, Great!

huge time saver
This module just saved me from having to enter a tonne of entries by hand. It was even able to map the columns to custom fields (in this case Location data) without a hitch.
Highly recommended if you need to do any batch importing of data.

great
this has saved me quite a lot of time and i think it will save even more :-)
it worked just out of the box, exactly the way i needed and even better than thought (little details like "skip first line" got me).

Very Easy to Use
This module makes a seemingly complex task spectacularly easy. The UI is extremely intuitive and even remembers your mapping preferences

A great module!
I have just used this module for the first time and it's great. It's very easy to use and it works in exactly the way I expected it to.
As always, you should backup your database before you import anything in case the import fails for some reason (mine timed out after about 400 entries of 2800 so I had to increase the max execution time).
Great work!

Node Import just off a bit
This module is potentially one of the most useful modules I have come across if you are trying to import data from spreadsheets. It is very easy to use and the documentation is well written and extensive.
However, version 5x-1.3 fails to import any CCK data type that is in a drop down list such as States, Categories. The module acutally gives you a preview of what it will import. The preview is worth it's weight in gold.
So in my case, I did not go ahead with the import and don't have to mess with nodes with blank fields.
I reported the bug and hopefully this can be fixed soon.
