It's a simple but very useful module. Specially if you have to develop a web project with typical front-end / back-end scenario.
I've been using Role Theme Switcher in different projects with Drupal 5 and 6. I've never had compatibility problems with other modules.
Regarding documentation, I think it doesn't need because it's a very simple module with an intuitive program code (no more than 110 code lines).
