The module associates a menu entry with each taxonomy terms in a configurable vocabulary. As callbacks, panel pages are used to display stuff (eg. nodes associated with the term). [I am the author of this module ;-)] Tax'o'menu replaces taxonomy_menu in a recent project. Its strongest point is that it allows to define aliases for taxonomy pages. It's weakest point is it's integration with panel_pages which still is a moving target.
