From what I can tell this allows you to embed a view into any node. I haven't used any other modules for this feature but based on what I have seen and the developer I doubt I will ever go anywhere else.
I am using this module to create a photo gallery based on the tutorial from lullabot. view attach tutorial but I can see
some other uses for this module as well.
There is a small bug currently that makes the token module not pass the argument correctly but there is already a reviewed fix in the issue queue.
