Really nice module - not for begginers.

This module does an amazing job after finnaly finded how to deal with it. Or i'm dumb or.. this module is laking of some installations steps..

I've been trying

I've been trying to figure out how to make the tinymce integration module work with tinymce 3 and wasting so much time. This API approach is the way to go, as it can handle any wysiwyg editor. Very easy to setup, much easier than any other editor integration module in fact. Hopefully this will go into core at some point.

This module is a blessing

This module is a blessing. It gives you a standarised way to bind in any JS Editor. Sadly there are few settings right now and the buttons only work for me if I leave every thing to standard. More documentations and some weeks of programming and we will have the best way to implemt wysiwyg into Drupal.

Use it for content

My sites using utf-8 language, I used fckeditor in Drupal 5, ckeditor in Drupal 6, now I use WYSIWYG. When you use ckeditor, summary text from your content not in good format, it's not good for SEO.
WYSIWYG fixed above problem.

Floorless wysiwyg integration

this is the ultimate in wysiwyg integration, just create a new folder in your 'all' folder and drop your chosen wysiwyg editor in to it full integration with the wysiwyg module.

Just simply brilliant

This is just simply brilliant!

Perfect Installation with TinyMCE, and jQuery.

I had my doubts after trying to install ckeditor, and fckeditor. However, after installing TinyMCE and jQuery without installation difficulty. I enjoyed a great installation, and operation.

Good, but lack of options

Be aware that if you want to use the new CK Editor(new version of FCK Editor) with WYSIWYG, you will lose some important options, namely the ability to choose where the editor appears. That's a deal breaker for me.

Great Module

Sun - this is the right way to install Editors in Drupal.

Why settle for one editor when you can have them all.

Keeps Drupal scalable, but limits the hassles in installing an editor. A must for core.

Works great for me

Installation was very easy. The best editor integration I've ever found. This is surely the way.

Not suitable as a replacement for dedicated editor integration modules at this time

While it's a great idea and the general direction seems sound, WYSIWYG at this time omits certain critical features that are common to most dedicated editor integration modules, like those for TinyMCE and FCKEditor -- most notably:

  • Can't control the size of WYSIWYG-enabled textareas;
  • Can't stipulate specific textareas to be enabled or disabled.

In my opinion, until these features are included, no version of WYSIWYG will be adequate for use by non-technical end-users. Additionally, it concerns me greatly that the 3.x branch requires so many additional modules, with no obvious reason why; it makes me concerned that they're reaching outside of the core API too much. In particular, I'd feel a lot safer and better about the 3.x branch if it didn't rely on Chaos Tools.

A fantastic help

It's no pleasure tweaking config files and wading through all the settings for the various wysiswg editors. This module takes care of practically everything for you, and I haven't experienced any problems yet. An essential module.

Thank you for this module!

Up until recently, I always talked my clients into postponing their requests for WYSIWYGs, because configuring them properly with filters, input formats, valid markup, etc. was so time-consuming. This module allows me to treat a WYSIWYG as a base feature instead. The administration interface is excellent! I look forward to future releases.

Very nice and easy

Setting up an editor is a headache somehow. But now, with this module, it is very easy to setup and administer an editor. With the support of IMCE, i think it is the easiest way to insert an inline image...
Thanks to contributors.

Very Nice

This is a great module and integrates very well with the core Drupal filter functionality.

I like the fact that you can run different WYSIWYG's at the same time.

What really makes this module shine is the ability to set the WYSIWYG interface. For example, in the FCKeditor module you had to create/edit your own toolbar in the fckeditor.config.js file the WYSIWYG API allows you to just check which buttons you want shown.

rating

Improved idea

I've avoided giving clients access to Wysiwygs unless absolutely needed, and this module give a much better way to do it than the outdated FCKeditor and TinyMCE standalone modules. I like the idea about input formats, seems like a much more intuitive approach

rating

more Editors less customization

this module is nice if you like to test the popular wysiwyg-editors out there or if you like things "out of the box"... If you want to customize your JS-Editor by reading the (editor) documentation, you should use a "specialist" - module which offers you the possibilities (for example tinytinymce module for a powerful tinyMCE integration)

A must have for Drupal but not finished

This module is a blessing. It gives you a standarised way to bind in any JS Editor. Sadly there are few settings right now and the buttons only work for me if I leave every thing to standard. One WYSIWYG module to rule them all

If you're bored by installing too many modules for a single functionality, or you want to use latest version of your favourite editor, try Wysiwyg API. It ties input formats with a downloaded editor (like TinyMCE), and provides a single interface to module configuration.

Just works.(tm)

I'd like to start this thread. ;)

Obviously, Wysiwyg API is the most awesome client-side editor integration module since sliced bread. 8) Development Snapshots are most often stable and the project issue queue is so clean that you cannot believe that this module already integrates 3 editors - TinyMCE, nicEdit, and jWYSIWYG - more to come!
